Newly elected Virginia Governor Youngkin outlined his vision for the state in his first joint session. Governor Youngkin talked about his plans to increase the budget for the state’s education system and cut taxes.

In the Governor’s first days in office he announced he signed 11 executive orders. Three of the executive orders were campaign promises. First banning critical race theory in schools, banning the mask mandate and removing the rule that state workers need to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Governor Youngkin also plans to give what he says will be the largest tax relief ever given to the people of Virginia. $1,500 for the typical family. Along with doing away with other taxes.

“But there is one vital thing we can do to help Virginians. And that is remove some of the tax burden — added on top of rising prices for groceries, gasoline and housing,” said Governor Youngkin.

Some of those other executive orders include creating a commission to combat anti-Semitism and prevent human trafficking.
