This week two more huge vaccine mandate updates came from two different judges over the CMS vaccine mandate and vaccine mandates for federal contractors.

First looking at the CMS vaccine mandate a federal district judge in Louisiana issued a primary injunction over the vaccine mandate for employees that work at medical facilities that receive federal funding.

This is similar to the Missouri Judge ruling just one day earlier that blocked the mandate in 10 different states. Those states were Alaska, Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming.

The difference in the ruling Tuesday was it was extended to a nationwide pause on the CMS vaccine mandate for every single state. This case was brought by Attorney General’s in Arizona, Alabama, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Utah and West Virginia.

This case is not over; it will continue to play out in the Louisiana court of appeals.

The next vaccine pause is on the federal contractors; a judge in Kentucky has also ordered a primary injunction to pause the President’s vaccine mandate for federal contractors in three states Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee. This case will continue to play out. It is not over yet.

There are lots of injunctions and lots of moving parts and every single vaccine mandate is different so just because one is stopped or paused doesn’t mean they all are.

We will be seeing a lot of rulings coming down in the next couple of weeks. Follow us on Twitter for the latest.
