If You Got The Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine You May Need A Booster
If you got the Moderna vaccine you could possibly be getting a booster shot 6 months after your final dose. The FDAs independent advisory panel all agreed Thursday that if you meet certain requirements.
The FDAs independent advisory panel says if you are over the age of 65, work in an industry with high risk and above the age of 18 and if you are over the age of 18 and have severe risk of getting COVID-19 you should get the Moderna COVID-19 booster shot.
This COVID-19 booster shot from Moderna is half the dosage than the first two initial shots. These recommendations that came from the FDA are actually very similar to the recommendations that was given for the Pfizer vaccine in early September.
Just like for Pfizer and when the initial vaccine was approved for emergency use authorization it now goes to the FDA for approval of the recommendations. If the FDA approves of the recommendations it then goes to the CDC for approval of the recommendations or denial.
